Farms have names too. When we first came to NE Vic, our stepfather’s little farm was called “Moonshine Chalet”. As a 3 year old I thought that was a wonderful, intriguing and exciting name but our mother changed it to “Curlew Hill” (the new house was built on top of a hill too!). It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered why she had insisted on changing the name…we DID have lots of curlews!!!
